DANNY ZIALCITA'S "MASQUERADE" FILM SCREENING AT THE CCP, SEPT. 11 (2010)

Director Danny Zialcita and actress Liberty Ilagan graced the film screening of their 1967 movie “Masquerade” at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde (Dream Theater) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines last Saturday afternoon, September 11. The two celebrities shared light moments during an open forum after the screening. Despite a slurred and garbled speech, Direk Zialcita humorously and jokingly answered questions and was quite candid in saying that the movie just shown was short of rubbish “…naiinis ako…matutulog sana ako, nagising ako,” then a burst of laughter from the audience.

“Masquerade” tells of eleven strangers (eight men and three women) with questionable past, invited to a masquerade ball by a certain Mr. X in an isolated mansion in an island. One by one, the guests were brutally killed. A touch of Agatha Christie thriller, Zialcita later confided.

Film enthusiast Dino Manrique uploaded two video clips which he took during the open forum. Though the video is dark, the audio is clear and audible enough and one could feel the humor and witticism of Director Zialcita. Here's the link---

Hi Simon! Thank you for the post and for attending our screening. Just a correction: the lady in the group pic is not Ina Avellana Cosio but Vicky Belarmino and the guy in the far right is Erwin Romulo.

Cheers!

Monchito

(Reposting my comment on Simon's Facebook note.) Thanks for posting this and linking the vids, Simon. :) Great job! Yeah would have wanted to edit the videos to brighten them up a bit, but my Windows Movie Maker is crashing. :P...The guy in the far right is Erwin Romulo, Editor-in-chief of UNO magazine and Associate Editor of Philippines Free Press. :) He's also a close friend of the late Alexis Tioseco. The lady, meanwhile is not Ina. It's Vicky Belarmino of CCP, and vice-pres of SOFIA. (http://www.facebook.com/vicky.d.belarmino)
